"American diamond" is an Indian-market name for high-grade cubic zirconia. It is not a diamond, was never sold as one, and contains no diamond. The name comes from the stone's origins in American laboratories in the late 20th century.

How they actually look
Side by side in daylight, most people can't tell them apart — same cut proportions, same physics of sparkle. Look closer, though:
- Diamond: calm, balanced — ~70% white brilliance, 30% coloured fire.
- Moissanite: the most rainbow fire of the three. Some love it, some find it a bit much.
- AAA CZ: brighter white sparkle than diamond, less fire — cut purely for sparkle.
A diamond whispers. A CZ smiles for the camera. Moissanite throws a small party.
How they wear
- Diamond — permanent. Outlasts the setting.
- Moissanite — near-diamond durability; won't scratch or chip in normal wear. Only sensitive to very high heat during repairs.
- CZ — a wear-and-replace stone. Stays brilliant 5–10 years of daily wear with basic care; replaceable cheaply after that. What looks like "clouding" is usually just soap/lotion film — a warm soapy soak often fixes it instantly.

Which one is right for you?
Choose AAA CZ if — you want bridal-level sparkle on a fashion budget, rotate pieces often, or worry about loss/travel.
Choose moissanite if — you want real, lifetime durability at a fraction of diamond price, or a bigger stone for an engagement ring without the cost.
Choose diamond if — you want a single heirloom piece, or the purchase carries resale/symbolic weight beyond the look.
Quick FAQ
Can a jeweller tell the difference? Yes, instantly, with a loupe or thermal probe. But outside the trade, no one is looking that closely.
Will people just know? Overwhelmingly, no — a well-set piece just reads as beautiful jewellery.
Water-safe? The stones are fine; it's the plating and settings that need protecting. Remove rings before swimming/bathing.
What does "AAA" mean? Top commercial CZ grade — colourless, eye-flawless, fully proportioned. ("AAAAA" is mostly marketing.)
Spotting a poor stone (any type)
- Yellow tint from the side
- A dark centre spot (poor cut, not fixable by cleaning)
- Blurry facet edges (mass-polished, not precision-cut)
- Visible glue or air bubbles behind the stone
The Anoree view
We sell faux jewellery because beautiful doesn't have to mean expensive. Every piece is hand-cut, set and finished in-house, using only AAA-grade stones. Natural diamonds are extraordinary and worth every rupee for the ritual that calls for one — but not every piece in a wardrobe needs to be that kind of object. Choose the stone that fits the piece, the budget, and the moment.
